AK4213 - High Performance Audio subsystem with Class-D speaker amp and capless headphone amp |
| High performance Audio Subsystem
San Jose, CA, July 02, 2008—AKM Semiconductor (AKM), the world’s premier supplier of audio ICs for professional and consumer markets, today launched the AK4213, an audio subsystem integrating a mono BTL class-D speaker amplifier and a cap-less stereo headphone amplifier. It corresponds to multifunctional use of the system with integrated 3-channel differential/single-end input selectors. The AK4213 has an integrated charge pump that generates an internal negative rail, enabling ground-referenced outputs for the cap-less headphone amplifier. This headphone amplifier eliminates large AC-coupling capacitors, achieving high quality sound and meeting space saving demands for portable devices. The filter-less class-D speaker amplifier provides high audio quality while saving power and board space. The AK4213 features AKM’s advanced ALC (Auto Level Control) circuit, digital volume control, a high power output class-D speaker amplifier and a headphone amplifier with offset calibration to eliminate pop noise. It is able to bypass the sound signals from baseband. Each function is controlled through an I2C control bus. The operating voltage of the analog section ranges from 2.6V to 3.6V, from 3.0V to 5.5V for the speaker amplifier section, and from 1.6V to 3.6V for the digital interface section. The AK4213 is available in an ultra small 29-pin CSP package (3.0mm x 3.0mm), facilitating space reduction of mobile devices. Evaluation boards and samples are available now. Pricing starts at $1.25 in 10k unit volumes. For more information or editorial contacts about this product, call AKM toll free at (888) 256-7364, or send an inquiry to icinfo@akm.com. |
